Crown Mantled Bookcase
41¾”W x 14”D x 81½”H

This bookcase is made of solid Brazilian walnut (Imbuya). The shelve, stepped base, and face frame and fabricated from solid Bayu, while the mantle repeats the stepped design of the base forming a gently curving crown.

Cape Dutch Chair
17”W x 15¾”D x 33½”H

Solid Brazilian walnut is used to make this chair. Front legs are turned reflecting a traditional design while rawhide leather thongs are woven in both directions forming a very comfortable seat. Curved chair sides and backrest pieces are all cut from solid stock. Mortice and tenon joints were used throughout.

Bowfront Server
48”W x 20”D x 31”H

Highly contrasting Brazilian walnut and Bayu is used. Top and drawer fronts have inlay while drawer knobs and legs are turned. Drawers are well suited for storage of cutlery. 3” diameter balls were incorporated to the leg base adding an elegant touch to the unit.

Ball and Claw
29” x 19¼”D x 51”H

Plantation teak was selected with large proportions of sapwood used to form the front, back and sides. These areas were bleached to impart a feeling of “flames” to the front which was carefully cut to form the drawer fronts. Sixteen 3” diameter balls were turned from red Padouk and a contemporary interpretation of the ball and claw foot was fashioned with four balls in each claw. Drawers are made from Canary wood with half-lap joints. The hardware chosen is brushed chrome.

Scroll Bench

This bench was designed as a metaphorical scroll opened up to reflect inlaid writing. Scrolls and top are made of Brazilian walnut. The inlay includes Purpleheart and Padouk as well.

Classical Armoir
36”W x 19”D x 87”H

Doors are made of Pau Amerello frames with all rails and stiles dowelled together. Raised panels are made of Padouk while the sides, back and interior shelves are made of solid Brazilian walnut (Imbuya). The top boasts a classical pediment with crown moulding in Bayu, while the base is treated similarly. Handles are cast pewter in an avant-garde design.

Bun-Foot Cabinet
62”W x 18½”D x 40½”H

Brazilian walnut and Bayu is used while drawer knobs and bun-feet are turned. Doors and drawer fronts are made of raised panels inset into frames which were then shaped and sanded to form a “pillowed” effect. All drawers are devetailed and bottoms and back are made of Canary wood. A fine oil finish as applied enhancing the natural grain of the wood.

China Cabinet
32”W x 15”D x 86”H

The upper showcase is made from Canary wood with bevelled glass doors. Stiles and rails are made with mortice and tenon joints. Figured Brazilian walnut is used for the back and shelves. The base consists of Brazilian walnut legs and rails. A crown moulding is used to tie the base to the showcase. Hardware is blackened steel.
